How can we make public lighting smarter and more environmentally friendly?
This was the challenge behind the Smart Ecolighting project, developed in partnership between CISE and Lightenjin II – Indústria de Iluminação Lda, with the aim of reducing light pollution in the Serra da Estrela region, helping to preserve biodiversity and protect local economic activities, particularly beekeeping.
Key technological solutions:
RGBWW LED boards for luminaires, enabling control of lighting colour and intensity and the exploration of different lighting configurations.
Intelligent control unit for remote monitoring, management and adjustment of luminaire operating parameters.
Motion sensors to detect people and adjust lighting intensity according to how the space is being used.
Monitoring and management gateway for collecting operational and detection data, with remote luminaire control.
Adjusting light intensity, duration and colour to assess environmental impact.
Implementation sites: Parque Urbano da Guarda and Aldeia da Quinta da Taberna, Guarda, Portugal.
A solution promoting more sustainable public lighting by combining technology, efficiency and nature conservation.
Technological innovation for a more sustainable future!
